I'm not going to elaborate much because Lynn wants to use the internet so...
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
By the way, these are pictures from my handphone so its not really clear.. Please bear with it till I get a Camera battery charger!

This is our first picture taken in front of our apartment.
Lynn is on the 2nd floor and Jun is at the Ground floor
We're staying up there.
Pictures of the apartment rooms will be posted later because I have not uploaded them from my camera.
Sorry for that.

This is probably my Favorite *EYE CANDY SHOP* in Campus.
Why eye candy?
Because I cant afford to buy anything except 5dollar baby tees, so I'll just window shop there during Orientation breaks.
AND thats a Cheerleader Uniform and a Cheer Bear!

Also, we celebrated Dawn's birthday (If you guys read my previous posts, you would know)
Nice cake right?
We tried our very best to make her look like a kid that day.

Well, since we don't have internet yet. We don't have entertainment.
So this is what we do, OLD SCHOOL BATTLESHIP!!!!
And I can say that I grew pretty good at it

This is one of our Orientation programs.
It is called Taste of the World and the best thing is they provide FREE FOOD!!!
As you can see that there are so many freshmen students, the International students are just a minority.

Yenni and Lynn
Sunway and the other transfer and exchange students had a reception for appreciation (things we don't we back in Malaysia)
Free Food AGAIN :)
Lucky draws and helium balloons.
Ken (my house mate) said that if we suck the the helium from the balloon, we'll start talking like chipmunks.
And that was what we did.
We laughed out butts off throughout the reception and all the way home.

Imagine this *Chipmunk voice* singing:
~ I whistle a happy tune at every single time~
(a song from the King & I the musical)

And that was what I did. :)
GREAT experience!

I love Helium Balloons.
I want a 100 for my birthday!!!!

The view on the way to Saugatuck.
Its a river that leads to our famous Lake Michigan.
Beautiful scenery

Our Boat's name is Star.
suits me huh!

This is the Pier

The very few clear pictures I took. The others were over exposed to the sunlight.
The view was undeniably magnificent!

From Left:
Lynn, Edmond (this guy LOOKS, DRESSES, and SPEAKS exactly the same as our own Kelvin Goh Wong!), Sei (Hot Canadian Japanese), YenN (Its sunny and freezing at the same time thats why I'm dressed like that)

The wheels that kept us moving throughout the entire 1 1/2 trip around the river

The View from Lake Michigan

The Ladies
From the Deck
The one of the Organizes and I

We window shopped around Saugatuck and here's what I found!

Cute sunnies!
And many more funky things

At Lake Michigan.
The best part about it is that its a Fresh water Beach so we don't have to worry about our hair getting tangled and sticky after swimming.
Plus, despite the hot sun and sand, the wind and water was cold so it was a perfect combination.
I just don't like the fact that I'm as tanned as myself when I was back in Form 2 doing cheer practices under the hot sun.

Till then,
Negaraku, tanah tumpahnya darahku....
Rakyat hidup bersatu dan padu.........

Just another quick update...

Well, obviously I STILL have no pictures in my post because I STILL have no internet and STILL have no battery Charger.

On the other hand, today was my best day of Orientation because we get to do our personal things besides sitting down at the hall listening to "Important talks" about immigration, subjects, health and everything...
Today we went to see our personal advisors regarding what subjects to take and etc.
PLUS, I get to meet me Theatre Buddy!
Basically a Theatre Buddy as a senior who had been assigned to specific newbies and they are the ones who takes care of the *lost dumb and knows absolutely nothing about campus* Freshman and by the way, THATS ME.
So yeah.
Melissa Mckim is a Senior (year 4) in Music Theatre Performance and is a real sweetie and made sure I'm okay and she made me feel really at home.
And yes, I'm real excited and I can't wait to start my course!

Oh yes, did I tell you?
I'm taking 17 credit hours instead of 14.
But the good news is, based on my Audition Video tape, they manage to exempt me for the entire Year One.
*muahahahahaaa...... so happy*

Dad & mum!!!! Are you proud of me?!

Unfortunately, the negative side of me tells myself,
Hey you think you're so great?
You've got no freaking background in dance and you got exempted?
You've only done one major Theatre Performance when so many other people have done many and you're exempted
You're crap at playing the piano and you got exempted?

I'm just getting a little scared and very anxious.
So yeah...... Thank God anyway :)

Till then,
I'm going to be SUPER DUPER busy next week and since All of my subjects are so Hands on.. I'm pretty scared that I'll faint.. haha
So keep me in prayer ok?!

Love you all!!!!!!!

When You're Gone

I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd need you there when I cry
And the days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie
Is made up on your side

When you walk away
I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now?

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss you

I never felt this way before
Everything that I do
Reminds me of you
And the clothes you left
They lie on the floor
And they smell just like you
I love the things that you do

When you walk away
I count the steps that you take

[When You're Gone lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

Do you see how much I need you right now?

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss you

We were made for each other
Out here forever
I know we were
Yeah Yeah

All I ever wanted was for you to know
Everything I do I give my heart and soul
I can hardly breathe I need to feel you here with me

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
And When you're gone
The words I need to hear will always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss you

Yes, I miss you guys back home.
Life's treating me fine right now. I still don't have my own internet at home so I'm practically leeching off anyone's internet available.
Sux right?
Anyway, Campus is really huge.
Out of 2 days walking there, we got lost twice.
Crazy right?
I'm so tempted to get a car right now!!!
Another thing that I've realized is that stuff in US are really cheap IF and only IF we earn over here. we can't practically convert anything because its so expensive when we do.
*poor daddy and mummy, thank you for sending us overseas*

Anyway, we just threw Dawn Sukyi Chan a surprise birthday party.
Apparently, she wasn't surprised because some one told her about it. So....Yea..
We ave her a ColdStone Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Strawberry Cheesecake with Gummy Bears Chocolate cake.
Sounds awesome right??
I'd be delighted if I was the one getting it.. LoL*

By the way, Sorry that I cant upload any pictures. First of all, the Stupid Battery Charger ain't working because US's voltage isn't as high as Malaysia's So yea... I cant use my camera until I get a new battery charger.

Well, we're having cake now.
till then people, Take Care!!!!!

So hows life at Kalamazoo?
Well, maybe because we're so use to the American Culture thats why we don't feel the difference that much.
Or maybe classes have not started yet thats why we still feel... u know... "chilling"
Well, our 28hour flight was super long. Was quite enjoyable behind excluding the fact that we sat beside an old man who seems quite bad tempered so its a little hard to go to the restroom whenever we want to.
Well, our 2 days here had been spent on shopping for furniture, cloth, soap, detergents, food, groceries, and etc.
And its really fun.
Gosh. How I wish that I earn US Dollars because things are VERY CHEaP! I mean, IF you don't convert.
we practically got everything (except fresh groceries) from the dollar shop. Cool right?
So EVERYTHING! canned food, juices, silverware, places, mugs and EVERYTHING only costs 1UD Dollar.

Besides that, the weather is simply great. It's summer and its VERY cooling.... Hmm.. I'm starting to wonder how would our winter be... =.=
Maybe we're just lucky, the day before we arrived there was a huge storm that practically destroyed halg of Kalamazoo's power... Thank Goddness we don't have to live through that and get freaked out. :P

By the way, how is everyone doing back in Malaysia?
I miss you all.....
I have not missed Malaysia yet because its only 2 days since We've arrived and we were very busy settling in and getting new stuffs. But I'm sure I'll miss the food soon. Haha
Everything here is simply so rich! The amount of Cheese in the burgers, the salads.... I tell you
Its just so easy to get F-A-T.
Trust me.
So hopefully I'll return *IN SHAPE*
So tag me people!!!! Tell me how are you guys?!

I'm sorry I cant reply any of your messages because my credit went down to from Rm56+ to Rm6 after 2 VERY SUPER FREAKING short calls from mum and a few smses I sent to my friend who was picking us up from the airport due to flight delays.. crap right?
So, most probably I'll get my hp number on Tuesday and Internet.... sigh.. I don't know yet.
Right now I'm at a friend's place using his internet *Thanks to Chyn Wey*

GUESS what?!
I have a test on my first day of class.. *OMG what?!*
Yeah.. it sucks.
My department sent me a mail saying that they already sent the list of musicals I have to study but I have not received any so.... yeah... please hope and pray for the best!!!!!!!

Till then, everyone at home please take care and Remember me!!!!
owh yeah.. Lynn blogged too... check out www.darlynn.blogspot.com for further details.. :)

Also, My international plug aka converter is broken due to the stupid flight.. I think they threw my luggage too hard. Inconsiderated people. So now I'm only surviving on my laptop battery and ALL my camera batteries are our so I cant take pictures... We've been looking high and low for the converter but we still cant find it. We heard its expencive too... *sigh*

pray for me *lah*

Recently I've been having a lot of bonding sessions for both family and friends. It feels great and I definitely feel appreciated plus there is always great food around during these kind of sessions! haha..
As it seems, I think I'll get fat even before arriving the States.

Here's a trip with my family down to A'famosa 1 and a half weeks ago.

This was my 1st picture in A'famosa.. poor old dead froggie.
Care for Jalan Ipoh's frog porridge? Boy, I'm going to miss that when I'm in the States

We flew kites to past time.
Yeah... I know its old school... but its a lot of fun!
Plus, you'll feel a great sense of achievement when its up THAT high.

LynN was the pro who caught the wind and brought it up that high.. We instead, ran high and low like some hooligans just to get the kite above a One storey building

Jocelyn & LynN
Cousin's UK friend (I'm sorry I can't really pronounce what more spell his name) & Mohawk cousin Hong Chieh

Till then people... take care

Packing up!

Okay I have 2 things to say.
First Thank God I manage to keep BOTH my luggage bags below 23kg. I mean, I hope and pray that the customs would not make so much fuss over 0.5 kg.. would they? :(
Well, at least the packing process seems better and is improving (hopefully).
One thing is... I wonder where on earth is my super bright colored swimming cap, the one that made me look like a floating fishball when I'm swimming.

Second thing is, I've recieved an email from my one of the faculty members of the Musical Theater Performance in Western Michigan University.
They are real friendly people to do that.. Its really welcoming!
I already feel at home by just reading the mail.
Unfortunately, when I scrolled up to the mailling list I found out something.
There are 52 freshmen plus me..... and
I am in fact the only Chinese, The only Asian, The only Non American
I'm feeling so stressed up now!
What if I'm not good enough?
What if I'm the worst of the whole load
What if nobody wants to be friends with me?
What if I have no partner or team mates for a group assignment!?
*SHUCKS! This sucks man!
I feel a little depressed.
In fact, I feel very Depressed!
My heart actually skipped a beat and I am having a real headache right now.

God help me!!!!
I'm scared! Literally!

I really want to fit in. :(

Its not going to be easy for me as I've recieved so many complements throughout my performing years and now I'm going there to be a Nobody.
More like an Invincible soul.
I'll probably end up being labelled as *The Chinese Girl*
or *Ms. Yellow skin* or *That nerd (since most chinese are known to be nerds)*

I feel so emo right now.

Hello fellow readers!
What a formal greeting huh.. but anyway, I'm not trying to rub it in. More like stating the obvious that I have officially one more week in Malaysia.
How are preparations for me?
Its okay, I have packed and gotten my stuff ready. EXCLUDING the fact that my bags are overweight! Gosh* help me.. there are still space in my bag, just that its overweight.
I suspect that the bag itself is already heavy

Heck. Why must Delta airlines only offer 44kg for both check-in bags and only 4kg of hand luggage? Do you know my hand carry bag is already 2kg just because it has wheels?
So heres whats gonna happen in the airport.
You'll see this weird looking chinese girl carrying her heavy laptop in a back pack, a sling bag to put her pssport n etc. and another hand luggage with stuff that couldn't be fitted into the Check-in luggage bags.
Yea.. if she does this everyday, she'll probably end up 5 inches shorter than her original height.
Sad huh.. yeah..
That Fat chinese girl is none other then me.
Can anyone tell me how do I solve this overweight problem?

I'm really anxiously excited about going to the States.
The people, the classes, the weather, the extra co-curriculums, food and etc.
I wonder how would it be like living alone without my parents and boyfriend.
At least I still have my sister with me or else I would be really more devastated then I already am. Gosh.
I would miss home.
This is me going to the real World.
I'm so afriad that I would face racism problems over there because I so sure that my classes are like 95% American Whites.
Would they discriminate me? Would I be left alone?

On the other hand, by just looking at the subjects and classes that I am going to take, I am already excited. :)
Let me give u a preview of my subjects next semester.

1. Ballet technique
2. Tap Dance
3. Private voice lessons
4. Basic Music
5. Keyboard fundamentals
6. Introduction to Acting
7. Aural Comprehension

Cool huh! omg.. I'm so looking forward to it!!!

Another thing that I'll be looking forward to is the work there.
Obviously I would need to work part time so my parents wouldn't suffer espcially when they are sending not one but TWO daughters to the States plus, we're not THAT well off u know.
So I'm excited to work and save so that the money that I spend would be by MY OWN effort.
Yea.. at least there is a sense of satisfaction there.

Oh well.... People, please wish me luck n pray for me.

La Bodega for Lunch
*highly recommended by Dear StephChai*
Thats why we went! We trust our dear Steph's taste since she has tasted so many varieties of Great food. LoL*

keeTz: Lets go La Bodega!
*YenN: Dear, you sure you want to go to La Bodega to eat? LynN says its expensive though..
keeTz: Hmmm... I don't know wor.... really ar? Aiya.. lets splurge only-lah* today!! :)
YenN: Oh.. okay-lah* anything, I don't mind! :) I'm not the one always complaining that I'm Broke. hehe...

Yeah... so thats how we ended up there.
We parked at the ever so high class Bangar ViIIage mall and walked to Telawi Street II to look for the *highly recommended* restaurant.
Which is so much easier than looking for a parking lot at that Rush Hour.
Well, the parking fee is quite expensive as it charged Rm 1.50 an hour.
Sad but true.. Yeah

The free artistic postcard which was worth keeping

The bar

The Seats

The FOOD!!!!! Yum*

we ordered their famous Tapas Set which came with this tangy tomato-ish Seafood cooked in paella and Saffron rice. *Simply delicious* Sorry to say that I forgotten to take pictures of the Tapas :) They were yummy too!! :)

KeeWeng showing off the amount of clams he ate from the hot plate

*owh.. did I mention... I gave him that hair cut. :) He is my masterpiece! *more like a guinea pig huh* LoL

Then again, ever since we got together, I have been cutting and trimming his *SUPER THICK BUSHy head* Just that I think this one is different. More edgy don't you think? haha

Loved the food, the ambience, the company and the fact that its just a stone throw away from ALL the super nice fasionable boutiques :)

Just some nutty pictures to keep your readers awake :)

The reason why I post about La Bodega was.... to show our Bill from Lunch.

All we had was the Tapas Speciality Set and a Pot of tea. Our bill came up to....

Yea.... it costed a BOMB!

but it was worth it! :)

Thanks Steph! Great recommendation!

HapPy and Blessed 28th Birthday Donovan Chan!

My laptop has just been sent to be downgraded to Windows XP since the *stupid Vista* is so annoyingly slow.
sigh, why does Microsoft has to invent something so slow??
Might as well just stick to XP right?
okay, will be back blogging when my laptop is back.

Am blogging from a car workshop while waiting for KeeWeng's car to service.

Carl's Jr!
yummilicious American Sized burgers oohlala*

For the First time, I find Burgers Sexy.
Not Literally but, yeah ;)

Well well well, before I start talking about Sexy and Hot burgers I just wanna say I HAD A GREAT TIME HANGING OUT WITH CHEEWEI AND CHENGCHOO!!!!
Love you guys.

We went to 1utama today and it was a very long time since I've been there and a long time since I've met my dear Friends. So you can imagine how excited was I. :)
We watched Simpsons today. And I not being a Simpsons fan was like
*huh? can we watch some other movie.. I don't think its worth it*
But then, being the polite-don't-wanna-crash-your-party girl just went ahead, bought a large popcorn and went into the THX cinema with the NuttyBunch and BOY I never regret!
of the movie of course. I haven't watch the series yet

After that was Shopping time and then my two CheerDarlings left for Cheerleading practice
*national cheerleaders what do you expect?!*

Then, bro-in law came to join LynN and we had dinner
*now I get to talk about Hot and sexy Burgers!!!! *

Yes I first tried Carl Jr's a Singapore and from then on i made a pact that everytime I visit Singapore, I'll have Carl's Jr.
And Thank Goodness I don't have to travel all the way there when its just 30minutes drive from my own house!
*runs around with a knife and a fork like a mad woman*

I love to see people eating like people.
I mean, you don't have to be so prim and proper when you eat right?
It's good to see *dolled up princessy ladies* dig in to their meals with their fingers and lips getting dirty you know.
At least they are being themselves.
But if you are *naturally* like Bree from desperate housewifes, I've got nothing to say.

Another thing I like about Carl's is that we get to refill the tomato salsa, onions and pickles!!
oh yes... I like the LOGO too... :)

Plus! CARL"S JR is the only place *that I know of* that has Chilli Cheese Beef Fries! :)

The burgers are huge too and the ingredients are wholesome. You can never complain that they put too little vege or too small of a ham because they really give you what you pay for. Well, I also have to admit that Carl's is not that cheap but then again Carl's is the kind of place you would not want to eat regularly because you'll get SUPER FAT after doing that for a month. So I think Carl's is better left for special occasions like parties, monthniversaries and etc.

*I think Carl's Jr ought to pay me for promoting their Burgers man. Well, at least give me a free meal and I'll be happy :P *

Till then, I hope I made you hungry. ;)
